The Agriculture and Food Fair of the U.S. Virgin Islands Announces 2023
Farmers of the Year Competition
St. Croix, Virgin Islands – The Agriculture and Food Fair of the U.S. Virgin
Islands continues to accept applications for the 2023 Farmers of the Year
competitions. Registration deadline for the competition is Friday, December
30, 2022.
The Farmer of the Year is determined by the total points accumulated from a
panel of judges during the judging period.
Judging is based on a set of criteria.
For crop farmers, the 2023 competition will focus on small farms less than 2.5
acres.
For livestock farmers the 2023 competition will focus on small livestock
production.
New in 2023, we will also be introducing the category of “Apiary of the Year”,
and we encourage all beekeepers to apply.

Judging of farms will begin January 2023 and end February 2023.
